Mr. Simon Piff Program Director, Enterprise Infrastructure, Practice Group IDC Asia/Pacific
Simon Piff has more than 16 years of regional experience in the ICT industry, serving in various sales and marketing management roles for hardware, software, services and online businesses.
As Program Director for IDC's Asia/Pacific Practice Group covering Enterprise Infrastructure, Simon is responsible for the execution and delivery of the program in the Asia/Pacific region. Along with a team of analysts, he produces market-defining reports for tape and disk storage systems across the region. This program has established IDC as the premier provider of market intelligence for storage in the Asia/Pacific market.
Simon's role under the Practice Group is to leverage the core research created by IDC's Asia/Pacific Research Domain Group, through contextualizing the content and increasing the relevance of enterprise infrastructure research for clients and their businesses.
Prior to joining IDC, Simon was responsible for the Database and Integration Server Software business for Microsoft's Asia/Pacific operation. In this role, he was a key member of the server team for over seven years, ensuring the 14 Microsoft subsidiaries within the Asia/Pacific region achieved their revenue goals in this demanding part of the business. He was also the regional spokesperson for Microsoft's database, business intelligence and integration business and was frequently quoted in leading regional print, online and broadcast media.
In 2005, Simon received his MBA from Southern Cross University, Australia.

William Yin is a Partner and Managing Director of The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and is based in the Hong Kong office. He leads BCG's IT and Operations practice in Greater China and focuses on the Financial Services industry.
Prior to joining BCG, Mr. Yin worked for A.T. Kearney for 10 years where he was the General Manager of the Hong Kong office and also led the Financial Services and IT practice in Greater China. In this role, he was successful in executing numerous strategic IT and transformation projects for several leading Chinese banks. Before joining A.T. Kearney, William worked for EDS for 5 years in the UK and in North America.
William holds a Masters degree in Information Technology from University College London and a Bachelors degree in Physics from King's College London.

James has over 12 years experience within Information Risk including 2 years as Head of Technology Security for Barclays Wealth where he was responsible for establishing and promoting the Bankˇ¦s strategic direction for information security.
James also has over 8 years consultancy experience with KPMG. He has worked in all major sectors including financial, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, petroleum and gas industries and public sector. His experience includes technology and security management assignments focusing on establishing appropriate security solutions for clients and assuring their effectiveness.
James is now based in Hong Kong on a 2 year secondment where he is leading the Information Protection and Business Resilience service line.

Mr. Cenk Eldem Head of BBS Asia Pacific (IT) BayerMaterialScience Ltd
Cenk is a native Austrian born in 1962. He graduated from University in Bonn, Germany with a diploma in Information Management. After starting at Bayer in 1989 as system analyst he held several managerial positions within IT. He headed application development, application support as well as infrastructure support functions. From 1999 to 2003 he was in charge of Bayer's IT in Japan, where he built up a shared service center for all IT functions in the country. He moved back to Germany in 2003 to oversee PC and infrastructure services for 40.000 users. August 2005 he returned to Asia, as Head of Bayer Business Services providing support for 20.000 employees across 15 countries in the region.
Cenk is married and has two children aged 17 and 15.

Francis Fung had been working in Midland Group as Chief Technology Officer for 7 years. The IT department had 100 staff in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Macau. The company employed the Metro IP data network, with Critrix and Thin Clint to support 300 branches and 5,000 end users in Hong Kong.
Before joining Midland Group, he worked in an Integrated Call Centre of Hong Kong Government as Executive Manager. Also, he was the Principal Consultant of PWC in CRM focus in call center and telecom projects in Singapore and Indonesia.

Mr. Mark Ross Partner Asia Cloud Computing Association
Mr. Mark Edward Ross has over 20 years of senior-level technology management and Board level experience with multi-national financial service companies. Mr. Ross also serves on the Board and as a senior level advisor for several start-up companies.
He started his financial services career at a top investment bank (Credit Suisse), where he was responsible for infrastructure and global application deployment for the company's fixed income and equities trading desks. He went on to become the Regional Chief Information Officer and Chief Architect overseeing European and Asian operations for several dominant and global financial service players (e.g. AIG, Thomson-Reuters).
Mr. Ross is a recognized technology innovator. He was most recently awarded the 2009 IDC innovation award for his work using software-as-a-service solutions. Publications of his work have appeared in numerous journals and periodicals and have also been the basis for a Computer World case study.
Specialties of Mr. Ross include strategic technology planning and the integration of core financial service systems including: insurance, asset management, pensions, trust, fixed income and equities systems.
Mr. Ross completed an engineering and economics degree from Carnegie-Mellon University. Mr. Pack Ling CIO, Greater China GE China
Pack Ling has assumed the Chief Information Officer of General Electric (GE) China since Jul 2006. He directs the IT strategies of the company and leads the IT function of over 200 professionals and 800 outsource engineers in Greater China region.
Pack joined GE in July 1996 as a management trainee of Information Management Leadership Program (IMLP). He led 5 office relocation projects and established the Asia-wide shared email server during his trainee time. Upon his graduation from program, Pack accepted the role as Asia IT Project Leader in GE Capital where he got an achievement award for his contribution to a few business acquisition projects in Asia.
In Jan 2000, he was promoted to lead dual regional roles - Asia IMLP Program Manager and Asia End-User Computing (EUC) Leader. In 2 years time, he grew the trainee program from 40 to over 100 members while he outsourced the whole Asia EUC operation to external vendors. In 2002, he was named as the Asia Pole Leader of Corporate Information Service Department, leading an operation to provide IT shared services for over 50,000 employees in Asia. He had implemented multiple IT solutions in the region including Oracle Financial, electronic travel claim and electronic leave systems. He had also outsourced the regional Payroll platform and established IT Security Council for Asia in this role.
Pack received a B.Sc. in Computer Science from University of Hong Kong in 1996, M.A. in Chinese Politics from Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2005.

Dr. Cheng-Chung Song Platform Architect, Storage System Divison, Systems and Technology Group IBM WW
Cheng-Chung Song is the platform architect for Shark storage products and a member of IBM Server Design Board. Song involved in the Shark product development since the very beginning of the products 15 years ago. Song is part of the team who created Shark platform infrastructure and error recovery framework.
Song holds Bachelor degree from Tunghai University in Taiwan, Master degrees from Northern Illinois University, and PhD degree from University of Illinois at Chicago. His IBM career started in 1991 as an engineer for internal tools developments. In 1995, Song started working on the Shark storage products (also known as DS8000 and DS6000 products.) In 2001, Song became the team lead for Shark platform component until 2005. During that time, he leaded the team on the transition of Shark platform architecture from ESS models to the DS8000 and DS6000. In 2008, Song lead the team on developing Easy-Tier technology. The result of such effort is the first GA of the Easy-Tier feature in 2H of 2010.
In 1997, Song received Outstanding Innovation Award. In 2002, Song received Outstanding Technical Achievement Award and Corporate Award. Song is recognized as a leader in the IBM storage development community for his wide range of product experience, key technical contributions on IBM milestone products and innovation as evident through his seventeen US patient filings.
Mr. Lawrence Li Systems Engineering Manager Symantec Hong Kong
Lawrence Li is systems engineering manager for Symantec Hong Kong, responsible for ensuring all IT strategies for the territory are executed in alignment with the corporate global standard. Leading an engineering team, Li plays a key role in delivering prominent IT projects with his responsibilities ranging from solution planning and implementation to project management and post-sales support.
Li joined Symantec through the company's merger with VERITAS Software. Prior to that, Li joined VERITAS Software as senior system engineer in 1999 following the company's acquisition of Seagate Software Network and Storage Management Group. Since 1999, Li had held several leading positions at VERITAS Software responsible for overseeing data availability, company's product management and business development.
Li has a strong background in engineering and product management in the local IT industry. Before working at VERITAS Software, Li was system engineer for Seagate Software Hong Kong, a company he joined in early 1999. Prior to this role, he was senior system engineer for leading system integration company Powerwave where he led a team selling networking solutions.
