Prior to joining Microsoft in 1998, Rich held a variety of senior management positions in the financial and technology industries including senior vice president for a regional brokerage and investment banking firm; chief financial officer for a software/data processing company; and vice president of currency risk management for a money center bank. In the early 90s, Rich founded a successful consulting firm based in California's Silicon Valley to provide banking & treasury related services to many of the Valley's most prominent firms.
